CAS Review Special edition NOW AVAILABLE

CAS Review Special Edition
for the Samsung Korean Studies Program

As host to the SKSP, and in celebration of its 30th “pearl” anniversary,
the College of Arts and Sciences considers it fitting to publish a special
issue of CAS Review as its contribution to the dissemination of some of
the findings of the Korean studies research projects.

This issue features four articles that compare Korean and Philippine
medical history, literature, politics and television.
The article of Dr. Arnel Joven studies the different manifestations
of Korean traditional medicine and explores ways on how these practices
can improve traditional medicine in the Philippines.
Dr. Abigail de Leon analyzes and compares International Studies
and International Relations programs in Korean and Philippine
learning institutions and studies whether there are new developments
in teaching approaches in the discipline.
Dr. Leodivico Lacsamana undertakes a formalist comparative analysis
of nationalistic literature in early 20th century Korea and Philippines.
Lastly, Arthur Joseph Vito Cruz writes a comparative critique
of the narratives of a Korean television drama and its Tagalog remake.

The publishers wish to acknowledge Prof. Kim Djun Kil
for his untiring support.
