42nd Faculty Colloquium 

The CAS OpCom, in partnership with the department of Asia Pacific Studies invited two speakers to give updates on their research project on “Epistemic Mobilities and the Governance of Environmental Risks in Island SEA” which is being funded by ZMT.  Dr. Elizabeth Urgel of the of CAS-APS shared interesting learning and observations in the international workshop on "Air Pollution Manila" which she attended last May 2-3, and her post-workshop visit in Berlin, Germany last May 4. 
Dr Rapti Siriwardane-de Zoysa, Scientific Coordinator of the 3-year project "Epistemic Mobilities and the Governance of Environmental Risks in Island SEA (EMERSA)" under the Leibniz Center for Tropical Marine Research (ZMT) in Bremen, Germany presented her preliminary fieldwork findings entitled "Beyond the wall: Imaginaries and contradictions of coastal protection in MM and Northern Jakarta".
The two projects (EMERSA and Air Pollution Manila) are products of the MOU between UA&P and ZMT.  Dr. Urgel is involved in both projects as country cooperator and research collaborator.
